Several practical issues in the development and operation of quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) cells and systems are discussed. The need for adiabatic clocking of QCA systems and modeling of electrostatic confinement of quantum dots are presented. Experimental data on dot coupling and applications to QCA detectors in a 2-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) are presented. We report a charge detection scheme where we observe strong modulation in the detector signal, in addition to the detector exhibiting minimal effect on the dot being measured. With this investigation, we demonstrate these two key components required for QCA in AlGaAs/GaAs materials, namely dot coupling and charge-state detection. 相似文献

High‐efficiency bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells with power conversion efficiencies of more than 5 % can be fabricated using the green solvent 2‐MeTHF. The active layers comprise a blend of a molecular semiconductor donor with intermediate dimensions (X2) and the soluble fullerene derivative [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyricacidoctylester (PC61BC8). A switch of the processing solvent from chloroform to 2‐MeTHF leads to no negative impacts on the morphology and charge‐transport properties of optimally performing BHJ films. Examinations by absorption spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering reveal no significant modification of morphology. These results show that green solvents can be excellent alternatives for large‐area printing of high‐performance organic photovoltaics (OPVs) and thus open new opportunities for sustainable mass production of organic solar cells and other optoelectronic devices. 相似文献

π-Conjugated, narrow band gap copolymers containing pyridal[2,1,3]thiadiazole (PT) were synthesized via starting materials that prevent random incorporation of the PT heterocycles relative to the backbone vector. Two regioregular structures could be obtained: in one the PTs are oriented in the same direction, and in the other the orientation of the PTs alternates every other repeat unit. Compared to their regiorandom counterparts, the regioregular polymers exhibit a 2 orders of magnitude increase of the hole mobilites, from 0.005 to 0.6 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), as determined by field-effect transistor measurements. 相似文献

Conjugated oligoelectrolytes are of emerging technological interest due to their recent function in the fabrication of optoelectronic devices, application in biosensors, and as species that facilitate transmembrane charge migration. Solubility in aqueous, or highly polar, solvents is important for many of these applications; however, there are few studies on how the self-assembly of conjugated oligoelectrolytes into multichromophore species influences linear and nonlinear optical properties. Here, we examine 1,4-bis(4'-(N,N-bis(6'-(N,N,N-trimethylammonium)hexyl)amino)-styryl)benzene tetraiodide (DSBNI) in water, a conjugated oligoelectrolyte based on the distyrylbenzene framework. We find that DSBNI aggregation leads to increased fluorescence lifetimes, coupled with hypsochromic shifts, and larger two-photon absorption cross sections. Liquid atomic force microscopy (AFM) and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) were used to image DSBNI aggregates and to confirm that the planar molecules stack to form nanocylinders above a critical aggregation concentration. Finally, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) was used to quantify the aggregate dimensions in situ. Comparison of the results highlights that the hydrophilic mica surface used to image via liquid AFM and the high concentrations required for cryo-TEM facilitate the propagation of the cylinders into long fibers. SANS experiments are consistent with equivalent molecular packing geometry but lower aspect ratios. It is therefore possible to understand the evolution of optical properties as a function of concentration and aggregation and the general geometric features of the resulting supramolecular structures. 相似文献

They comprise a cationic conjugated oligoelectrolyte and fluorescein-tagged ssDNA and were optimized with a hybrid, computational neural network model.
